At Cleveland Pain Care we have been offering IV Ketamine Infusions for the treatment of refractory pain conditions with generally good results. And while the treatment is considered experimental, it has been fairly beneficial for patients with certain pain conditions such as Fibromyalgia and other Chronic Pain Syndromes. Generally IV Ketamine infusions are well tolerated. The infusions take approximately 3 hours and are painless. All infusions occur in a monitored setting under Dr. Hedaya’s direction and with full-time nursing supervision. At the outset of your infusion you will have two IV’s placed in your arms. Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, and Oxygen monitors will be placed while your are resting comfortably in bed. Once you are ready and relaxed the infusion of medication will begin. To determine if IV Ketamine is appropriate you will first be required to set up an initial appointment with Dr. Hedaya and complete a number of screening questions. Depending on your health history, further medical screening may be required before safely proceeding with IV Ketamine. On the day of your scheduled infusion you will need a driver and will want to where comfortable clothing.
